B66: Expedition Ketch – Wind Spirit is her name and she very much lives up to it

22 DECEMBER 2022

We love a challenge here at Lloyd Stevenson Boatbuilders.

As anyone who has moved a new boat from the build facility to the water knows, it is a complex process and a very fraught time for all involved. So, at 3 a.m. the morning after moving the Artnautica 60 Sportfisher to the marina, we were at it again… and off went the expedition ketch.

That afternoon we lifted her onto her keel. The rest of the week was bonding, fairing and painting the keel to the hull.

The next week we stepped the rig and launched her.

Her interior is spectacular, very elegant and understated with a level of finish that is just incredible. A real credit to the Marty, Peter, Benji and the team.

She has now been sea trailing for a couple of weeks and has proved to be a good performer for this style of yacht. And when the breeze goes over 20, the spirit of Wind Spirit truly starts to show.

She really is fit for purpose and soon departs for her voyage home. Although we are very excited to hear of her future adventures, as she explores the more remote parts of the world, we will miss her and her crew. It has been a real privilege to bring this boat in to existence.
