As New Zealanders, boats are woven into our history and heritage. Many of at Lloyd Stevenson Boatbuilders own our own boats and spend as much time on the water as we can. To say we are passionate about boats and have a deep reverence for, and understanding of New Zealand’s maritime heritage is a given. This passion and heritage are woven into our yard’s ethos as we merge traditional wood boat building with state-of-the-art composite expertise. Lloyd has trained apprentices from the day he started building his own boats, a practice that continues to this day, and it is Lloyd's desire that our newest boat builders have a complete set of boat-building skills; this is why, to be an apprentice at Lloyd Stevenson Boatbuilders, you are required to complete two apprenticeships, in both wood and composite boat building.
