Lloyd Stevenson Boatbuilders is pleased to see our 2022 80ft ketch project 'Wind Spirit' safely return home to France following the successful completion of a global circumnavigation.
Designed and built for capable short-handed passage-making, the voyage was completed single-handed by the owner with only two stops along the way including Cape Town and Auckland. The journey stands as a significant achievement for both owner and vessel, highlighting how capable this vessel is.
From the outset, 'Wind Spirit' was conceived as a blue water explorer capable of extended cruising in comfort and safety, with a strong emphasis on practicality and ease of handling.
Seeing the vessel successfully complete this type of real-world offshore programme she was built for is always immensely rewarding for everyone who has been involved in the project.
