24 year old Tane Tarlton, grandson of the late Kelly Tarlton; marine archaeologist, treasure hunter and founder of Kelly Tarlton's Underwater World, is embarking on his own adventure highlighting the stories of ocean conservationists around New Zealand.
Lloyd Stevenson Boatbuilders has donated factory space to Tane while he refits an 8.5m ex-SOLAS lifeboat, turning it into an expedition vessel to circumnavigate New Zealand.
Over 12 months, Tane and his team will travel the coastline to film and share the stories of 52 ocean conservationists, iwi-led initiatives, and grassroots community groups. Highlighting their mission in a 52 episode social media series and feature length documentary, designed to reconnect New Zealanders with maintaining the health of our precious ocean.
