Karen has the grace and charm of a classic and her appealing lines mask an impressive upwind ability that has humbled many larger yachts.

Karen's superb performance can be partially attributed to the advanced composite materials utilised to craft her hull, decks, keel and rudder.

She was conceived to sail the globe; the major components are demountable and all equipment, including the hull and two-piece wood-grain carbon fibre mast, pack into a 40ft shipping container. This enables her owner and his family to day-sail the world's premier yachting destinations and enjoy selected international regattas at will.

While modern design, materials and sailing systems were utilised to obtain transport flexibility and excellent performance, a superior standard of finish and detailing was maintained to enhance comfort and sophistication. Bright-work and teak decking complement Karen's modern structures and elegant lines, blending the best of many eras and creating a warm classic feel without unduly compromising upwind speed.

Karen was produced in association with Marten Yachts who built the keel and rudder, and Lloyd Stevenson Boatbuilders' strong alliances with other highly respected boatbuilding operations can be utilised to fast track large or complex commissions.
